Memorabilia: Karajan´s Baton & Signed Record
Herbert von Karajan (1908-1989) was one of the greatest conductors of the 20th century – for some, he was THE conductor. The Principal conductor for the Berlin Philharmonic for 35 years has sold over 200 million records, one of the top-selling classical music recording artists of all time.
We acquired a baton used by him, given to a fan in 1987 – it came with some documentation. We put it in a very nice frame together with an LP record of Ein Heldenleben (Life of a Hero) by Richard Strauss, with Karajan shown conducting with a similar baton (see photo).
Frame is not listed on our website but is available for sale – feel free to request more info if interested.
